Awards

The 2009 API Hepatitis B award was presented to Dr. John Choe of the University of Washington and Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, for his leadership and commitment to raising hepatitis B awareness in the API community.

Dr. Choe has been a long time active member and leader with the Hepatitis B Coalition of WA (HBCW).  His connections have linked the HBCW to professional and community groups, such as the Korean American Health Professionals Association, into collaborative community projects.

He is a member of the Strategic Planning Committee that is transitioning the Coalition mission to one with broader, more impactful goals and population outreach.  He is a well-respected and trusted member, not only of the Coalition, but also of the greater API medical community.

He, his wife Judy, and young son Milo can be seen on the Coalition’s Korean perinatal brochure titled “Mommy, Baby, and Hepatitis B”.  View the brochure by clicking here

We are pleased to recognize Dr. Choe’s dedication to improving the health of the API community.
